CUPPA for CANSA
The Shoprite Checkers supermarket group is proud to be the main sponsor of Cuppa for CANSA, a nationwide initiative hosted by volunteers, partners and members of the public who want to raise awareness and funds for CANSA and show their support for its mission to fight cancer and save lives. Shoprite and Checkers facilitates Cuppa’s in its stores countrywide during June, and donate the proceeds of all in-store Cuppa events to CANSA.
“CANSA encourages supporters to take part in Cuppas at their nearest Shoprite or Checkers during June or to host a Cuppa For CANSA your home, club or workplace,” said Sue Janse van Rensburg, CANSA National Executive Director. “Funds raised from this year’s Cuppa For CANSA campaign will go to patient care services in your region,” she added.
In 2009 Shoprite Checkers raised more than R580 000 that was donated towards the expansion of its prevention programmes and patient care services around the country.
A new leaflet in the Shoprite Consumer health care range was created in association with the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) to promote their annual Cuppa for Cansa campaign and puts the spotlight on leading a healthy balanced lifestyle and eating healthy foods to help fight cancer - Food to Fight Cancer (.pdf) |
