An absolute classic dry gin, this is one of the world's best-selling spirits. It was first created in 1769 and the recipe has not changed since. This is a triple-distilled gin with juniper berries, coriander, angelica and one other botanical flavouring. Only a dozen people know the exact recipe, rightfully so, as it is a closely guarded secret.
On the nose, there are sweet juniper notes, a little lemon zest, hints of soft sweetness and fresh herbs. The palate is very clean with a dry juniper delivery that develops into lemon and other citrus notes that are zesty. A straightforward medium-length finish, it can be savoured neat over ice and would make a fantastic martini.
