• Description:

    Beef Skewers, the answer to a quick summer’s meal without having to slave away in the kitchen. Better yet, throw a few on the braai so you don’t have to miss out on all the festive fun. The secret is in the marinade, and remember, cut the beef as thinly as possible so it cooks right through. Serves: 4-6

  • Ingredients:

    1 corned beef
    3 tablespoons soy sauce
    3 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 teaspoon ginger powder

    Freshly ground pepper, to taste
    A pinch of salt, to taste
    Red onion, cut into squares that are about 2cm x 2cm

    3  peppers (red, yellow, green) , cut into squares that are about 2cm x 2cm
    Olive oil
    1 punnet cherry tomatoes

  • Method:

    1. Stir soy sauce, garlic, sweet chilli sauce, ginger and olive oil in a deep mixing bowl.
    2. Cut corned beef into thin slices and briefly marinade in the mixing bowl.
    3. Thread beef, prepared bell peppers and red onion onto skewers.
    4. Prepare griddle pan on high heat.
    5. Place skewers in griddle pan, turning occasionally and brushing with reserved marinade until meat is browned on all sides.
    6. Serve immediately, with Shoprite deli sides.
