  • Ingredients:

    300 g beef strips
    1 teaspoon fresh chopped parsley
    1/2 teaspoon each of dried thyme and dried rosemary
    1 small onion, very finely chopped
    4 teaspoons minced garlic

    2 teaspoons Italian herb spice
    2 teaspoons lemon and herb spice
    1/2 milk
    1/2 cup cream
    Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

    1 teaspoon corn starch mixed with 1 tablespoon water, until smooth
    1 cup veg (spinach/green beans)
    1 cup mushrooms

  • Method:

    1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
    2. Season the beef with salt and pepper and cook beef strips until no longer pink on the inside. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
    3. In the same pan, heat another 2 teaspoons of olive oil and sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
    4. Add the spices, mushrooms, spinach and green beans and fry for a minute. Then stir in milk and cream.
    5. Bring to boil. Add the corn starch mixture to the centre of the pan, quickly stirring, until sauce has thickened slightly.
    6. Reduce heat and simmer gently for a further 10 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken more.
    7. Return beef to the pan. Sprinkle with extra herbs if desired. Add cooked veg and serve with rice.
