Lamb Chops

    Looking for braai recipes? Try these curried lamb chops. They’re a classic braai-time favourite and a fantastic addition to any outdoor get-together. Although you can marinate the chops for an hour before braaing, aim for marinating the meat overnight so that the delicious, fragrant curry flavours really get a chance to develop.

  • Ingredients:

    Curry sauce:
    10ml oil
    1 large onion, chopped
    375ml vinegar
    15 ml medium curry powder

    5ml turmeric
    15ml ground coriander
    60ml sugar
    30ml apricot jam

    6 lamb loin chops
    salt and freshly
    ground pepper

  • Method:

    1. Curry sauce: Heat the oil in a small saucepan and fry the onion until golden brown. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer over low heat for 6-8 minutes until fragrant. Set aside to cool.
    2. Meat: Marinate the chops in the cooled sauce for an hour or overnight.
    3. Remove the chops from the sauce, season with salt and pepper, and braai the chops over hot coals for about 15-20 minutes. Until just cooked or to your liking, turning frequently.
