Zanele’s Pear Tart

Directions
1 Preheat your oven to 180 ºC. Mix all the dry ingredients together for the crumble.
2. Rub in the butter to resemble breadcrumbs then set aside.
3. Toss the pears in the brown sugar and cinnamon, then place in a suitably sized baking dish.
4. Dot with spoonfuls of caramel treat.
5. Top the pear mix with the crumble until completely covered. Bake for 20 – 30 minutes until golden brown.
6. In the meantime, make the caramel sauce by heating the cream and the caramel treat together over low heat until combined.
7. Leave to cool slightly, then pour over the pear tart.
Ingredients
For the crumble mix:
- 2/3 cups cake flour
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup walnuts; chopped
- 2/3 cup oats
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter; softened
- 1 packet ginger biscuits; crumbled
For the pear mix:
- 1.5 kg pears; peeled, quartered and de-seeded
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tin caramel treat
For the caramel sauce:
- 1/2 tin caramel treat
- 250 ml cream
