Zanele’s Roast Chicken

This easy roast chicken recipe is a “set-and-forget” recipe that’s perfect for Easter entertaining. While you wait, try some of our easy recipes like an cocktail, Cape Malay Pickled Fish or even Cinnamon Hot Cross Buns.


1. Preheat your oven to 180 ºC. In an open bowl, mix all the ingredients together.

2. Place the chicken in a roasting pan, pour over the marinade and then cover with foil. 

3. Roast in the oven for 45 minutes, then remove the foil and let it grill for 20 minutes to get a deliciously crispy skin.


Roast Chicken Tip

Pat the chicken dry before putting on the marinade. This ensures that the marinade sticks to the chicken and absorbs well.

Serve with Crispy Roasted Potatoes or Beetroot Salad on the side and finish off with Hot Cross Bun Pudding for dessert
