TERMS RELATING TO THE MASTERCARD SHOPRITE CHECKERS CAMPAIGN 2021

1. Mastercard and Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd (the “Promoters”) are currently running a campaign relating to the use of Mastercard payments at Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers Hyper branded stores nationally.
2. The campaign period runs from 7 June 2021 to 15 August 2021.
3. During the campaign period, Mastercard is encouraging cardholders to pay with their “Scan to Pay” app (Issuer branded Masterpass App or their banking Apps) or with a Mastercard branded debit or credit contactless card when purchasing items at Shoprite, Checkers or Checkers Hyper branded stores.
4. The Promoters have partnered with Gift of the Givers which is a registered non-profit organization to provide assistance to South Africans in need, up to an amount of R1 000 000.00 (One Million Rand).
5. Each time during the campaign period, for any transaction of any amount that is made through Scan to Pay or a contactless Mastercard branded debit or credit card, Mastercard will donate 15c (Fifteen cents) to a total amount of R1 000 000.00 (One Million Rand) to Gift of the Givers. The total amount raised by Mastercard during this campaign will be distributed via Gift of the Givers, at their sole discretion, after the end of the campaign period to South Africans in need.
