Directions

1. Add the the crushed All-Bran Flakes into a plastic sleave or cling wrap and tie the plastic so it is properly sealed. Use the back of a wooden spoon to beat the All-Bran flakes until crushed evenly and set aside 

2. Place the fish, potato & herbs into a large bowl and mash.  

3. Add the milk, egg, salt and pepper and stir well to combine. 

4. Use a large spoon to scoop up the mixture and shape with your hands to form a ball. 

5. Place the ball into the crushed All-Bran and gently roll to coat. 

6. Transfer the fish cakes to the fridge for 30 minutes to chill, this will help them to hold their shape. 

7. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large frying pan over a medium heat and add 4 - 5 fish cakes. 

8. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until the fish cakes reach a desired golder-brown colour. Serve immediately.

  • 2 tinned fish (Tuna or Pilchards) 
  • 2 cups All-Bran Flakes, crushed  
  • 1 potato  
  • Chopped fresh herbs like parsley, mint or coriander, depending on whats available  
  • 1 egg  
  • ½ cup milk 
  • 1 tbsp oil for cooking 
  • Salt to taste
