Directions

1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C and grease a muffin tray or use muffin liners 

2. For the dry ingredients, combine the flour, crushed All-bran flakes, mixed herbs, baking powder & seasoning in a large bowl. 

4. In a separate bowl whisk eggs, inkomazi/maas and water then add the dry ingredinets. 

5. Fold in the cheese, cooled sauted onions and carrots.   

7. Spoon this mix into muffin cups and bake for 35 - 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. 

8. Cool on a wire rack and serve them warm.

  • 3 eggs 
  • 1 ½ cups wheat-flour 
  • 1 cup inkomazi or maas 
  • 1 cup water 
  • 1 medium onion, diced & sautéed  
  • 1 cup grated carrots 
  • 2 cups All- bran flakes, blended into flour or crushed into a fine crumb 
  • 1/2 cup cheese, grated 
  • 2 tsp mixed herbs  
  • 1 tsp baking powder 
  • 1 cup of water 
  • 1 tsp salt and pepper to taste
