Cheesy Mince Pasta Bake by Chef Zanele

This easy pasta recipe is the perfect winter dinner idea when you’re in the mood for a hearty winter meal.
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 180 ºC. Heat the oil in a pan, then brown the onion and add spices. Add and brown mince, then pour in canned tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper, then let it simmer for 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in cooked pasta and gently mix before removing from the heat.
2. In a separate pot, melt the butter then whisk in the flour. Slowly add the milk, stirring continually. Season with salt and pepper. Bring it to a low simmer until sauce is smooth and thick.
3. Add layers of mince and white sauce in a baking tray, finishing the last layer with white sauce. Top with grated cheddar cheese and bake for 12–15 minutes until lightly browned on top.

- 1.5 kg lean mince
- 1 medium onion; finely chopped
- 10ml olive oil
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. barbecue spice
- 1 tbsp. ground coriander
- 1 can chopped tomatoes
- 300g macaroni, cooked to package instructions
- Salt and pepper
White sauce
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 400 ml milk
- Salt and pepper
- 200 g grated cheddar cheese
