Stewed Apples and Pears with Custard by Chef Zanele

Description

This 5-ingredient dessert is the perfect solution for when you have a last-minute cravings for an easy winter pudding.  

Directions

Add pears and apples to a saucepan on low heat. Add sugar, water, apple cider vinegar and vanilla essence then let it simmer until it reduces and thickens. Spoon into bowls and serve with custard. 

Ingredients

  • 2 pears peeled, and cut into slices 
  • 2 apples peeled, and cut into slices 
  • 1 cup brown sugar 
  • 1 cup water 
  • 100ml apple cider vinegar 
  • 1 tbsp vanilla essence
